Welcome to my website. Several years ago before retiring from the U.S. Coast Guard, I went searching for someone to put together a website for an organization I belonged to. What I found was there were plenty of people out there that were more than ready to take our money and only deliver substandard work. It was then that I decided to learn the skills needed to create my own websites.
My quest for knowledge and website functionality has brought me a long way since I first started out. Websites today need to not only be appealing to the visitor but have content and functionality that will make their visit informative and bring them back again and again.
One big problem that I have encountered with web sites is that finding a reliable hosting service that does not want an arm and a leg is tough to find. Many a business has created a website only to let it expire when the cost of hosting along with the upkeep of the content becomes prohibitive. What small business or non-profit organization can afford to shell out over $1000 a year for hosting and web authoring. I have found several different options out there that are very reasonable and provide all of the functionality that most businesses and organizations need to keep their site going for years to come.
